About ILS
Aims and Scope:
Issues in Language Studies or ILS (e-ISSN 2180-2726) is an open-access journal of the Faculty of Educatipn, Language and Communication (formerly known as the Centre for Language Studies), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Since 2012). It is a refereed open-access journal published biannually in June and December.The journal publishes articles on teaching, learning and the study of languages covering areas of linguistics, applied linguistics, language education, technology-mediated language learning, and other related areas written in English or Bahasa Melayu (Malay). The articles are currently indexed in several directories including Scopus, MyJurnal and Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). Directory of Abstract Indexing for Journals and Ulrich's Periodicals Directory. The acceptance rate for Issues in Language Studies is about 50%. Please take note that your review process will take approximately 3-4 months due to large number of submissions as well as reviewers' availability

Quality Control Mechanism:
The journal practises double-blind peer review process. 

Publication Frequency:
One volume two issues per year (June and December). The review process will normally take up to 2 months.

Article Subscription Fee:
Free open access 

Publication/Article Processing Fee:
Starting from the June 2022 issue, ILS will charge a publication fee of RM500 for articles that are accepted for publication. There is no fee for submission for review.
